Markus began his music career playing piano and moved later to guitar, having been influenced by rock bands such as KISS, Queensryche, Metallica, Megadeth and Pink Floyd; and by artists such as Alice Cooper, Ace Frehley, and Stevie Blaze. He has performed as a lead and backing vocalist, rhythm and lead guitarist, bass guitarist, and keyboardist for several popular New Orleans bands, the last of which was the progressive rock band The Holy Oh's. In addition to providing a powerful foreground stage persona, Markus works behind-the-scenes magic and wizardry as well, teaming with Zaughn to engineer, record, mix, produce, and master all Brother Grym material. Feeling completely at home in the studio and on stage and fueled by the desire to bring strength, musicianship, and legitimacy back to music and live performance, Markus shares his brothers' drive to reach new heights with hard-rocking, lyrically-sound, original music in the new millennium.
